Wednesdays in Lent – Rise Up: The Power of the Beloved Community 

Throughout Lent, Fairmounters will gather with members of Shiloh Baptist Church, Christ Episcopal Church, St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church, and First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland for worship, prayer, and fellowship. We’ll kick it off with our Mardi Gras celebration at Fairmount and a joint Ash Wednesday service at Christ Episcopal. Then, each of the following Wednesdays in Lent beginning February 25th, we will gather from 6:30pm-8:00pm, each week at a different church.

 The first half of our gatherings will be worship, teaching, and prayer–centered on biblical texts that speak to the power of God’s people to build the Beloved Community, even when the “powers that be” have other ideas. During the second half of the evening, we’ll sit at tables with people from our different congregations to enjoy a meal and fellowship. All are welcome!

• Wednesday, March 4th: The Power of the Law at St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church 
• Wednesday, March 11th: The Power of the Purse at First Baptist Church of Greater Cleveland,
• Wednesday, March 18th: The Power of the People at Christ Episcopal Church 
• Wednesday, March 25th: The Power of Protest at Shiloh Baptist Church
