North Church

The church is located at the Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) headquarters, 4501 Superior Avenue, and serves as a ministry to the inner city of Cleveland.  LMM has been in existence since 1969 and has been addressing such chronic needs as guardianship, housing and shelter, workforce development and youth resiliency.  In addition, LMM serves the homeless, youth at risk, older adults who are vulnerable, people impacted by the criminal justice system and people with behavioral needs.  Similar to Fairmount, North Church is a member of the Presbytery of the Western Reserve and committed to the Gospel message of Matthew 25.  Fairmount has experienced a long and enjoyable relationship with both LMM and North Church.

One Sunday morning each quarter, a meal for approximately fifty (50) people is prepared in Fairmount’s kitchen.  The meal is ready around 10:00 a.m. and delivered to North Church by 10:30 a.m.  A church service is held from 11:00 a.m. to Noon which the Fairmount volunteers are encouraged to attend.  After the service, lunch is served which takes a minimum of four (4) volunteers and lasts approximately one (1) to 1.5 hours with some minor clean-up.
