I expect us to try and keep our meetings to 45-60 minutes each week. \n\n\nSince there was a mix of preferences between Zoom and in-person\, we’re going to try a hybrid model. Those who want to meet in person\, we will gather in the Ganson Room at church (near Andersen Hall). Those who want to join online\, I will send a Zoom link the week of September 19th. \nWe’ll start with Nehemiah and then study Daniel and Isaiah later this fall. I’ll get out a “reading schedule” soon also. But in short\, there will be two “tracks” depending upon how much homework you want: \n\n\nTrack A: Read assigned scripture only\nTrack B: Read assigned scripture plus chapters from the “Old Testament for Everyone” commentary series.\n\n\nIf you already know you want to read the commentary\, you can order it now from the PC(USA) Store or Amazon (paperback or Kindle) and start reading the introduction (pages 1-7) and the first chapters of the Nehemiah section (which begins on page 79). Those who want to join online\, I will send a Zoom link the week of September 19th. \nWe’ll start with Nehemiah and then study Daniel and Isaiah later this fall. I’ll get out a “reading schedule” soon also. But in short\, there will be two “tracks” depending upon how much homework you want: \n\n\nTrack A: Read assigned scripture only\nTrack B: Read assigned scripture plus chapters from the “Old Testament for Everyone” commentary series.\n\n\nIf you already know you want to read the commentary\, you can order it now from the PC(USA) Store or Amazon (paperback or Kindle) and start reading the introduction (pages 1-7) and the first chapters of the Nehemiah section (which begins on page 79). Reading the commentary is NOT required to participate in the Bible study. \nYou can also check out these videos from the Bible Project and/or Fuller Seminary for good overviews of Ezra-Nehemiah if you’re interested. Looking forward to journeying through these books together over the course of the fall!
